Gemini Submarine Cable System Ltd.,

a joint venture of Cable & Wireless, London, UK, and WorldCom Inc., Jackson, MS, has completed the installation of the U.K. landing site--Porthcurno, Cornwall--of the southern route of the Gemini transatlantic submarine fiber-optic cable system. The actual undersea portion will begin after the installation of the U.S. landing site is completed this month in Manasquan, NJ. Installation of the southern route--from New York to London--is anticipated by November.
