April 23, 2002--Hubbell Premise Wiring (www.hubbell-premises.com) announces new and improved 2Quick and OPTIchannel ST and SC fiber optic connector systems. Both the 2Quick and OPTIchannel connectors work with 900-micron distribution fiber and have been redesigned to reduce termination time while assembling more quickly, easily, and reliably onto the fiber.

The 2Quick crimp-style multimode connectors crimp directly onto the fiber with the use of a crimp tool, eliminating the need for adhesives. The OPTIchannel multimode and singlemode connectors can be installed with either anaerobic quick-cure adhesive or heat-cure epoxy. The patent pending connectors now offer better performance and bring fiber termination to a new level of simplicity, according to the company.

For a limited time, Hubbell Premise Wiring is offering a free die set upgrade to customers who already have Hubbell fiber crimp tools. The new universal die sets can be easily installed in existing tools in the field and will crimp all new 2Quick and OPTIchannel SC and ST fiber optic connectors. The offer expires July 31, 2002.
