Enablence signs agreement with Osaki Electric Co. Ltd. of Japan

August 25, 2008

AUGUST 25, 2008 -- Enablence Technologies Inc. has entered into a market development agreement with Osaki Electric Co. Ltd. of Tokyo, Japan. According to this agreement, the Osaki Electric Group will co-market and sell selected components from Enablence's Optical Components & Subsystems Division.

Osaki Electric Group and Enablence have been co-developing a Tunable Optical Dispersion Compensator Module (TODC) and an MSA Wavelength Division Multiplexer and Demultiplexer product line during the last two years. The companies will co-market these products worldwide under both the Osaki and Enablence brands.

As a former investor in ANDevices of Fremont, CA, the Osaki Electric group became a shareholder earlier this year following Enablence's acquisition of ANDevices. ANDevices is now part of Enablence's Optical Components & Subsystems Division.

"We see the global utilities sector as a growing market for our optical components, subsystems and systems products as these companies either implement their optical infrastructure or get involved in providing communications services beyond their traditional utility services," says Arvind Chhatbar, CEO of Enablence Technologies.
