MAY 17, 2010 -- Optical switch manufacturer Polatis says that Terremark Worldwide Inc. has selected Polatis products for one of Terremark’s new fiber management applications in selected data centers.

Terremark will leverage Polatis's Series 2000 optical matrix switching platforms, based on its patented DirectLight beam steering technology.

"Reliable, high-performance optical switching with system redundancy and robust remote management support is ideal for emerging 10G crossconnect services in our data centers," said Norm Laudermilch, senior vice president of infrastructure at Terremark. "Polatis took the time to understand our requirements and deliver the features and functionality in a system platform that was ideal for this application. We are currently looking to leverage this technology in other optical networking applications across our portfolio."
