CoAdna offers 50-GHz tunable demux/mux modules

February 22, 2011

CoAdna Photonics, Inc. has introduced what it asserts is the first liquid crystal based 50-GHz 1xN Tunable DeMux/Mux (TDMX). The new TDMX is available with up to 20 ports.

CoAdna’s 50-GHz TDMX is built on its proprietary LightFlow platform. The TDMX offers mux/demux functionality with hitless wavelength tunability, remote configurability, flexibility, and extremely low power consumption, CoAdna says. It can be used for colorless multiplexing and demultiplexing, particularly in next-generation colorless, directionless, and contentionless add/drop architectures and coherent detection applications.

“CoAdna’s 50GHz TDMX modules will not only maintain the industry leading performance and reliability to meet our customer’s demanding requirements, but also enable the much desired colorless add and drop application for optical networks” said Dr. Jim Yuan, president and CEO of CoAdna Photonics.
