FiberLight expands fiber optic network into Roswell, GA

Fiber-optic network services provider FiberLight LLC says it is building a dark fiber network to connect all municipal buildings in the city of Roswell, GA. The diverse fiber-optic ring network will provide a secure, reliable communications infrastructure that will connect the city’s park facilities, fire stations, transportation, police station, and water management system, FiberLight says.

Encompassing 42 square miles in north Fulton County, GA, Roswell has a $56 million operating budget and is home to 88,346 residents. Roswell officials approved construction of the private network as a secure way to control IT infrastructure costs, improve network design, and attract new employers, FiberLight asserts.
