Integra Telecom develops fiber network

Integra Telecom Inc., a provider of enterprise grade networking and communications services, says it has established a new monthly benchmark by expanding its fiber-based network to 40 commercial buildings in six markets, including:

  • Portland, OR
  • Bellingham, WA
  • Phoenix, AZ
  • Boise, ID
  • Sacramento, CA
  • Salt Lake City, UT

Integra says it added a record number of buildings to its network in July. Of the 40 buildings, 23 are new locations and 17 are fiber upgrades at existing sites. In total, Integra now has more than 1,700 fiber-fed buildings and 5,000 miles of high-speed long-haul fiber.

Customers can access speeds from 5 Mbps to 10 Gbps with Integra’s fiber network, the company says. Services on the network include MEF Certified Ethernet, Virtual Private Network (VPN), Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), and Dedicated Internet Access (DIA).

These additions are part of a $52 million year-long investment to expand the service provider’s fiber network and provide both wholesale and retail customers carrier-class high-bandwidth products and services, claims Integra.
