Tennessee Cooperative picks ADTRAN for broadband stimulus project

ADTRAN Inc. (NASDAQ:ADTN) says that Tennessee’s largest telephone cooperative, Twin Lakes Telephone Cooperative Corp., has selected the Total Access 5000 multi-service access platform and Advanced Operational Environment (AOE) services management offering for use throughout its network.

(NASDAQ:ADTN) says that Tennessee’s largest telephone cooperative, Twin Lakes Telephone Cooperative Corp., has selected the Total Access 5000 multi-service access platform and Advanced Operational Environment (AOE) services management offering for use throughout its network. ADTRAN's equipment will be used to deliver residential and business services including triple-play services (voice, video and data) as well as IPTV over FTTH.

Twin Lakes provides telecommunications services to Northern Middle Tennessee, with a network covering approximately 1,900 square miles, 32,000 subscribers and 15,000 broadband customers. The operator has secured a broadband stimulus award to bring next-generation services to more than 12,000 business and residential customers, and for high-bandwidth mobile backhaul.

Twin Lakes said a key reason it chose ADTRAN’s Total Access 5000 system was the ability to configure and provision multiple services from a single platform. In addition, with the use of the Total Access 5000, Twin Lakes can easily deploy mobile backhaul services using a variety of gigabit fiber connections.

"ADTRAN’s FTTH solution combined with the service management features of AOE allowed us to streamline our operations and immediately offer cutting-edge, revenue-generating services to our customers," said Jonathan West, general manager and CEO, Twin Lakes Telephone Cooperative.
