OE Solutions, AimValley partner for optical transceiver development

Transceiver vendor OE Solutions and Dutch technology services company AimValley say they have joined forces to develop optical transceivers for wireless and wireline applications.

Transceiver vendor OE Solutions and Dutch technology services company AimValley say they have joined forces to develop optical transceivers for wireless and wireline applications. One goal of the partnership is to integrate Layer 1 and Layer 2 functionality into the transceiver modules.

The Layer 1/Layer 2 functionality integration will help support maintenance and operation of fiber networks, the companies believe.

“Our two companies complement each other very well, accelerating innovations in optical transceiver technology,” said Y.K. Park, OE Solutions CEO. “Therefore, we believe that this partnership will contribute considerably to the innovative power and growth of both organizations.”

“Integrating the technology of OE Solutions and AimValley will support network operators during service installation, commissioning, and maintenance,” said Theo Muys, managing director AimValley. “At the same time, our joint solutions will reduce network capex and opex costs, power consumption, and floor space. As a result they will reinforce the competitiveness of our mutual customers.”

A time frame for the first products from the partnership was not revealed.
