Prysmian Group targets XSNet fiber portfolio at BDUK FTTx projects

Prysmian Group is touting the applicability of its new XSNet suite of fiber-optic cabling products and engineering services for rural broadband projects such as those that might fall within the BDUK Broadband Development funding program.

The XSNet suite, one result of the integration of Draka’s FTTH offerings with those of Prysmian, combines fiber-optic cabling, ducting, indoor and outside plant products, and engineering services. It also includes proprietary network design software designed to map, configure, optimise, and price a network concept quickly.

Prysmian acquired Draka earlier this year (see “First phase of Prysmian/Draka integration completed”).

Prysmian points out that BT Openreach has approved its products, which BT has deployed. Thus, municipalities can build custom aerial networks using BT poles with BT-approved components.
