XC Networks selects packet-optical transport gear from Tejas Networks

Mexican service provider XC Networks will use packet-optical transport systems from Tejas Networks for a fiber-optic backbone network upgrade.

"As we continue to evolve our network to meet our customers' needs, we seek strong partners to help strengthen our business,” said Thomas Spackman, CEO of XC Networks. “XC will open over 100 optical nodes in 2012 adding accessing points and bandwidth to our ever-growing network of 12,000 fiber miles and 10 telecom hotels.

“Tejas Networks' technology leadership provides us the ability to provision high-capacity TDM, Ethernet, and IP services at any location. This ongoing network upgrade will allow us to maintain our position as the leading provider of communication between the United State and Mexico," Spackman concluded.

XC Networks expects the upgrade to improve its delivery of Ethernet and TDM services via additional capacity, flexible service offerings, and streamlined operations. The packet-optical transport systems will simplify capacity upgrades and ease the transition of network services from primarily TDM to primarily Ethernet.
