Mark Floyd new Cyan chairman

Packet-optical transport systems developer Cyan Inc. announced that present board member Mark Floyd has been named board chairman. A member of Cyan's board since early 2007, Floyd was most recently CEO of SafeNet and is currently chairman of the board at NetSocket and director at Riverbed.

Packet-optical transport systems developer Cyan Inc. announced that present board member Mark Floyd has been named board chairman. A member of Cyan's board since early 2007, Floyd was most recently CEO of SafeNet and is currently chairman of the board at NetSocket and director at Riverbed.

"Having worked with service providers for most of my career, I have never seen a period of greater change for them than the current one," stated Floyd. "Cyan's unique set of solutions help service providers capture the opportunities presented by this unprecedented change. I am excited about my expanded role with Cyan and our expanding impact on the industry."

According to Cyan CEO Mike Hatfield, "We see tremendous growth opportunities in front of us and Mark is the right person to help us capitalize on those opportunities. His considerable experience with early-, mid-, and late-stage private and public companies, public offerings, and significant mergers and acquisitions are invaluable to us at Cyan."

Earlier in his career, Floyd was chairman at Tekelec, CEO at Entrisphere, founder and CEO at Efficient Networks, and CEO of Siemens ICN in the US. Floyd was also a partner with El Dorado Ventures, held executive positions at Crosspoint Ventures, and served in a variety of management and executive positions at NetWorth, Interphase, Scott Instruments, and Texas Instruments.
