Dutch FTTH gateway developer Genexis says it plans to launch a new product line at next week’s FTTH Council Conference in Munich.

The “Hybrid” home gateways offer three layers of capabilities, according to Genexis. The first provides easy fiber termination. The second layer is designed to enable network termination independent of network technology. The third layer provides end-user services.

The modular platform is designed to lower FTTH deployment costs while meeting the requirements of network operators, service providers, and end users.

“The first reactions from our customers have been overwhelming,” asserts Ron van Os, director of product and sales management at Genexis. “During the development, our customers immediately embraced this innovative product concept and incorporated it into their FTTH projects. As a result, we will commence shipments to the first four customers next month; more details about these strategic European FTTH projects will follow soon.”
