OFS has unveiled the EZ-Bend InvisiLight Optical Solution, a cabling system designed to maintain a low profile inside homes and multiple dwelling units (MDUs).

EZ-Bend InvisiLight is designed to address customer concerns that in-building fiber connections will involve unsightly cable runs. While installing fiber behind walls is one way to respond, this approach can be expensive and time consuming.

The EZ-Bend InvisiLight Optical Solution combines a 1-mm diameter optical micro-cord that installers can roll and adhere into grooves between ceilings and walls, walls and moldings, corners between walls, or directly on moldings. The use of EZ-Bend bend-insensitive fiber enables the installation to conform to the contours and corners in a residence with negligible signal loss.

"The OFS EZ-Bend InvisiLight Optical Solution enables customers nearly invisible, fast, plug-and-play fiber in the home to connect FTTH services to subscribers," said John George, director, OFS Global Technical Marketing. "For service providers, this solution improves both sides of the business case equation: Its virtual invisibility helps increase customer acceptance and revenues, and the roll-on installation process, auto-slack storage, and plug-and-play connectors speed deployment to help reduce costs."
