Broadband equipment and software provider PacketFront Holding AB has created a new company, PacketFront Network Products AB. PacketFront Holding AB now contains four independent entities:

  1. PacketFront Solutions AB (former PacketFront Network Solutions, which provides FTTH products for the Swedish market)
  2. PacketFront Shanghai Ltd (R&D center)
  3. PacketFront Software Solutions AB (broadband management products)
  4. the new PacketFront Network Products AB (advanced routers and switches for the FTTx and enterprise markets)

The creation of the new company strengthens PacketFront’s ability to address new and existing market segments for its access products and to liaise with other equipment and software management vendors, PacketFront Holding asserts. PacketFront Network Products AB is led by Johnny Hedlund as CEO. Hedlund was previously vice president for the Access business unit.

‘‘PacketFront Network Products’ mission is to offer cost-effective and intelligent routing and switching solutions to FTTx and enterprise customers, as well as to new customer segments,” says Hedlund. “Since the founding days of PacketFront, it has been our philosophy to deliver smart network nodes that provide distributed, cost-effective control of the network traffic -- for users, for services and flows. We have done this in combination with highly automated configuration options. Time has proven the validity of this solution and today, more than 1 million end-user ports have been sold. We are extremely excited about our business opportunities as demand is constantly growing, not only for increased bandwidth, but for increased bandwidth with secure- and controlled traffic flows.”

‘‘This is a natural decision in order to expand our routing and switching business into new customer segments, and at the same time simplifies the PacketFront Group structure. There is an excellent and very experienced team driving PacketFront Network Products AB and I am convinced they will harness the full potential of our products,’’ says Henrik Scharp, CEO PacketFront Holding AB.
