EXFO Inc. (NASDAQ: EXFO) (TSX: EXF) has unveiled Ethernet One, a centralized Ethernet service activation and monitoring system. Ethernet One is designed to test and monitor all network architectures, from the core to the last mile, though all stages of the service lifecycle.

Ethernet One leverages the new BV-3100 Verifier, which EXFO says can automatically and simultaneously activate multiple sites while monitoring thousands of endpoints. It is designed to provide complete visibility into every layer of the infrastructure, from transport to advanced services. The BV-3100 Verifier enables network segmentation that makes it possible to not only predict and diagnose faults, but also to target diagnostic efforts towards specific network areas, EXFO adds. Its interface scales from 1G to 10G for maximum flexibility.

EXFO asserts Ethernet One eases deployment and simplifies workflow by enabling operators to test from the central office toward the access extensions, or vice versa, in an automated fashion. Meanwhile, its data correlation and analysis capabilities support a range of reporting features, including automated reports and customizable dashboards. Simple APIs make it easy to integrate Ethernet One into an operator's existing OSS, EXFO adds.

"Ethernet One brings substantial benefits to network operators in terms of field-team efficiency, overall cost-effectiveness, and ultimate customer value. Not only does it simplify technicians' tasks and eliminate human errors, but it also implements standards-based methods across the network--whether it be for mobile backhaul services, business services, or data centers," said Claudio Mazzuca, vice-president of EXFO's Service Assurance Division. "With Ethernet One, operators can better deploy and better assure Ethernet services, maximizing customer satisfaction and accelerate time to revenue."
