German test and measurement instrument developer ID Photonics says it has added a tunable laser engine that covers the C-Band and L-Band to its CoBrite tunable laser chassis series. The new tunable laser engine is targeted at such applications as coherent transmission, OFDM transmission, and WDM network emulation.

The new continuous no-bandgap tuning range of the C+L-Band tunable lasers enable R&D technicians to cover any channel used in today’s transmission systems with a single laser port, ID Photonics asserts. Its low price point – which ID Photonics describes as “industry leading” – encourages the lasers use even in high port count multiport test setups.

The CoBrite MX tunable laser chassis series is designed to support the evaluation of coherent transmission networks, both in R&D and production environments, via a scalable modular platform that offers from 2 to 104 laser ports in a single system.

The CoBrite laser card portfolio includes PXI cards that leveraging the existing ecosystem of readily available multi-purpose cards for PXI on the market. This allows users to build integrated multiple application test environments by selecting best of breed cards for each functionality at an affordable price, the company says.

All of the new devices are available now.
