Optical component specialist Picometrix, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Advanced Photonix (NYSE MKT: API), has unveiled the CR-100D, a 100-Gbps coherent receiver that is available with and without an integrated variable optical attenuator (VOA).

The coherent receiver is based on the CCRx multisource agreement (MSA) and OIF compliant CR-100A package. The receiver covers the entire extended C- and L-Band wavelengths and can be used in colorless coherent networks.

The CR-100D is the latest in the Picometrix coherent receiver line. Demand for the devices has been so great, says API, that the company has had to strengthened its supply chain to keep pace.

"We are excited to add the CR-100D receiver to our 100G product offering and continue to expand our industry-leading coherent receiver line," said Robin Risser, COO for Advanced Photonix. "I am equally pleased that our team has successfully resolved our supply chain bottlenecks. As a result we are experiencing robust growth in our 100G receiver product platform this quarter and are in a strong position to meet growing market demands."
