Test and measurement instrument and optical interconnect technology provider Multilane SAL has introduced development kit for a QSFP28 optical transceiver aimed at the 100-Gbps market. The kit complies with Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF) specifications.
The QSFP28 kit aims to accelerate the design cycle of interconnect and equipment providers who seek to address the growing demand for 100G connectivity. The kit supports design of QSFP28 (also known as zQSFP/EDR QSFP) modules based on data rates of up to 28 Gbps in each of four lanes.
The kit includes a module compliance board and a host compliance board, along with passive and retimed loopback modules. Multilane also will supply a software suite for configuring and programming QSFP28 modules as well as controlling a four-corner testing environment.
