VeEX intros SunLite OTDR for FTTx

March 18, 2014
Test and measurement equipment vendor VeEX Inc. has announced the SunLite optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR), which it claims is one of the world’s smallest, lightest, and most feature-rich instruments for testing passive optical networks (PON) and fiber-to-the-x (FTTx) networks.

The compact unit also delivers a combination of optical test functions, including light source, power meter, and visual fault locator (VFL).

OTDR traces can be saved in Telcordia SR-4731 .SOR file format for export via USB or Bluetooth and viewing on a PC, smartphone, or tablet equipped with Fiberizer software. Multilingual support and an optional Fiberscope extend the operation and versatility of the device, the company says.
