Network connectivity provider Global Capacity says it has signed a new wholesale agreement with 24/7 Mid-Atlantic Network, LLC, an East Coast fiber-optic network service provider serving the Maryland, Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia markets.

24/7 Mid-Atlantic Network has selected Global Capacity’s One Marketplace Ethernet services to expand beyond its regional fiber footprint. Global Capacity says the One Marketplace platform provides competitively priced, high-performance Ethernet network services to support the bandwidth requirements of wholesale and enterprise customers.

With a 10 Gigabit Ethernet interconnect to Global Capacity's One Marketplace point of presence in Ashburn, VA, (at 21721 Filigree Ct.), 24/7 Mid-Atlantic Network can quickly and efficiently extend its network reach while simultaneously pointing demand at its high-end transport services, Global Capacity asserts. Over the same interconnect, Global Capacity gains access to high-bandwidth Ethernet services within 24/7 Mid-Atlantic Network's 800-mile footprint.

"With Global Capacity's One Marketplace, 24/7 Mid-Atlantic Network is able to expand our coverage and better respond to customers with a services portfolio scalable down to 10-meg services," said Sean Baillie, president of 24/7 Mid-Atlantic Network. "The automated design, pricing, and ordering offered by One Marketplace allows us to manage operational costs and streamline service delivery as we expand our core dark fiber and colocation offerings to include high-performance, lit Ethernet services."

One Marketplace enables customers to take advantage of near-ubiquitous network access by combining an interconnected, physical network aggregation platform with a cloud application that automates the design, pricing, delivery, and maintenance of network services, says Global Capacity.

"We are excited to welcome 24/7 Mid-Atlantic Network into the One Marketplace ecosystem, expanding the breadth and reach of Ethernet services for both our companies," said Ben Edmond, chief revenue officer for Global Capacity. "This mutually beneficial agreement supplies Global Capacity with high-speed Ethernet services across high-demand markets, while 24/7 Mid-Atlantic Network benefits from Global Capacity's cost-competitive rates and connectivity to over three million commercial Ethernet addresses."
