Cincinnati Bell (NYSE: CBB) says it will launch gigabit fiber to the home (FTTH) services under its Fioptics brand to consumer customers on September 8. The residential services offering follows the introduction of similar services to business earlier this year.

“The company has a unique opportunity to give Cincinnati consumers the capability to upgrade speeds to meet their ever-changing technology needs and do so at competitive prices,” said CEO Ted Torbeck.

The gigabit FTTH services launch is part of Cincinnati Bell’s "Light Up Cincinnati" initiative. The initiative includes free Wi-Fi hotspots at key Cincinnati locations and in conjunction with community events.
