Network-neutral interconnection and data center services provider Cologix says that NewCloud Networks is the newest tenant at its Columbus, OH, data center. The national cloud computing and communications services provider has established its primary Midwest production cloud node at Cologix's Columbus, OH, data center.

NewCloud Networks specializes in hybrid cloud, cloud desktops, backup as a service, disaster recovery as a service, and hosted PBX services. Its cloud service offerings also include infrastructure as a service, unified communications as a service, and MPLS as a service. NewCloud Networks supports more than 2,500 customers and 2,000 sales partners across the U.S.

Seeking to add a central point between its New York and Denver facilities to further reduce latency for its Midwest customer base, NewCloud Networks has partnered with Cologix.

"Cologix presented a unique opportunity to deploy in the most resilient and connected data center in Columbus," said Kris Hogaboom, NewCloud Networks vice president of engineering. Hogaboom said that the presence of more than 40 on-site carriers, a 100% uptime track record, and advanced security features were elements that factored into the decision to choose the Cologix site.

In addition to Columbus, Denver-based Cologix operates facilities in Dallas, Jacksonville, Lakeland, Minneapolis, Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver (see, for example, "Allied Fiber's Southeast Route reaches Atlanta").
