Test and measurement equipment supplier EXFO Inc. (NASDAQ: EXFO) (TSX: EXF) says it has completely revamped its optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR) and Intelligent Optical Link Manager (iOLM) technology line with the introduction of the C-Series OTDR portfolio. The series offers 42 new and completely redesigned models that offer improved performance, new features, and new configurations, EXFO asserts.

For example, EXFO has expanded iOLM capabilities with iMF, an automated MPO testing feature, and iLOOP, an automated loopback test method that tests two fibers simultaneously. The iOLM technology also can now produce custom acquisitions, called Optimodes, to address specific customer needs and custom requests.

The C-Series OTDR portfolio is hosted in the MaxTester tablet-inspired form factor as well as the FTB-1V2and FTB-2 platforms. A complete Windows 8 OS enables third-party integrated applications for communications, remote assistance, file storage, and connectivity.

"With the introduction of the C-Series, EXFO's seventh generation of OTDRs, we bring unprecedented optical performances that increase the quality of the results you expect from your favorite OTDR," explained Stéphane Chabot, vice-president, Physical Layer Test Division at EXFO. "Combined with the power of the new FTB Pro platforms and the latest innovations to the iOLM, we are delivering the best mix of intelligence, performance, and automation in a completely recharged OTDR portfolio."
