Lumentum offers dual-channel receiver for coherent transmission

March 24, 2016
Lumentum Holdings Inc. has launched a dual-channel Intradyne Coherent Receiver (ICR) at OFC 2016 in Anaheim. The device supports reception of two channels in a compact package with a SPI interface. The receiver can accommodate QPSK and QAM transmission formats for long-haul 200-Gbps per channel applications. Samples are available now.

The dual-channel ICR integrates two polarization beam splitters, four 90-degree hybrid mixers with a high-speed photodetector array, and two four-channel linear transimpedance amplifiers. The SPI interface enhances control of both analog and digital control/monitor functions, Lumentum adds.

"Customers with dual-channel coherent ASICs are now leveraging our dual-channel ICR solution for existing and future deployments," said Kevin Affolter, director, product line management, Tunable Transmission.
