EXFO Inc. (NASDAQ: EXFO) (TSX: EXF) has released 100-Gbps multichannel Optical Transport Network (OTN) test capabilities for its FTB/IQS-85100G and FTBx-88200NGE instruments. The new features aim to support the OTN equipment design requirements of network equipment manufacturers (NEMs).

The new capabilities enable technicians to validate up to 80 OTN channels simultaneously, thus increasing development efficiency and agility, according to the company.

EXFO says it also will offer a new 100 GigE Through mode on the FTBx 88200NGE. The troubleshooting tool is designed to minimize downtime for 100G circuits in the field and in lab testing. The 100 GigE Through mode offers in-line bidirectional monitoring to eliminate the need for an external tapping module, switch mirror port, or any other traffic redirection scheme. EXFO asserts the FTBx 88200NGE is the instrument on the market with this capability.
