Atlantic Metro and InfoRelay announce merger

Atlantic Metro Communications and InfoRelay Online Services have joined forces in a merger that brings together InforRelay's data center colocation offerings and Atlantic Metro's national network backbone, cloud hosting services, and IT managed services. Both companies will continue to operate under their respective names while working to integrate service platforms and retain offices in New York, New Jersey and Virginia.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The companies tested the waters through collaborations on infrastructure as a service (IaaS) offerings before agreeing to merge. The merger enables them to combine strengths to the benefit of current and future enterprise customers, they say.

The combined entity will operate high-capacity fiber-optic networks and national data centers while specializing in the creation of secure hybrid cloud solutions for public and private sector customers in healthcare, finance, manufacturing, and government markets.
