Domaille Engineering has upgraded its APM-HDC-5300 fiber polishing machine. The enhancements include support of a wider variety of languages as well as additional pressure settings to accommodate higher-capacity polishing plates.

Designed for complex multi-fiber applications such as MPO or MTP connectors, the APM-HDC-5300 features a rigid fixture system that the company asserts is superior to floating fixture systems. Users can program polishing processes through a PC-based Windows-like full-color touch screen panel. The panel displays settings for speed, time, and pressure, and prompts the operator for the film, pad, and lubricant needed for each step of the process. The machine also can export many key processing parameters.

The system now supports such operations in English, Mandarin, and Spanish.

The APM-HDC-5300 also features fully programmable pressure and speed ramp rates for slow starting the polishing process. It also has programmable film change counters and a maintenance section that will alert operators when the film need to be changed or when the polisher otherwise needs servicing.

If the number of connectors loaded into the polishing fixture is less than the programmed default, the automatic pressure adjustment feature enables the operator to enter the number of connectors loaded. The required pressure is then automatically recalculated.
