Xtera teams up with Fortress Solutions to improve undersea cable systems longevity

Xtera says it has partnered with Fortress Solutions to improve its undersea cable systems longevity. Fortress Solutions, an ISO 9001, TL 9000, ISO 14001 and R2-certified telecom equipment repair service provider in North America, will deliver customer service and enable the submarine network technology specialist to minimize the turnaround time on legacy equipment.

Xtera says it has partnered with Fortress Solutions to improve its undersea cable systems longevity. Fortress Solutions, an ISO 9001, TL 9000, ISO 14001 and R2-certified telecom equipment repair service provider in North America, will deliver customer service and enable the submarine network technology specialist to minimize the turnaround time on legacy equipment.

Fortress Solutions supports legacy equipment repair for over 80,000 parts, serving more than 1,500 platforms from 325 equipment manufacturers. Xtera will accelerate Returned Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) with Fortress Solutions' support, positioning the company to improve its focus on new customers and projects, while optimizing manufacturing capacity at Xtera's contract manufacturers.

"Xtera utilizes an 'Extended Enterprise' model from leading outside organizations to help deliver the highest quality services to our customers. We are very excited to partner with Fortress Solutions to maintain our subsea cable systems utilizing its ISO-certified equipment services."

In February 2017 vice president of sales, global submarine solutions at Xtera Inc., Robert Richardson, told Lightwave that the company had emerged from bankruptcy proceedings, and was focusing on the submarine network market with capacity additions to its undersea repeaters.
