Swedish FTTx equipment vendor Tilgin AB says that JT (Jersey) Ltd., formerly Jersey Telecom, has ordered a second round of home gateways for JT’s fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network.

JT is in the midst of an extensive FTTH roll out (see “Jersey Telecom connects customers in FTTH trial”). JT first selected Tilgin to supply its HG 2300 Home Gateways, Tilgin Home Gateway software (HGA), and tGem device licenses earlier this year. The order value is in excess of 8 million SEK ($1.2 million).

”With JT’s vision of building a world-class fiber to the home connectivity on Jersey, it was important for us to partner with a supplier that shares our vision,” explains Graeme Millar, CEO at JT. “We needed a partner with the right product portfolio today to be able to rapidly roll out an end-to-end solution for full triple play. We also needed a partner that will provide us with the right solutions for the future. Tilgin became our partner of choice. Their true gigabit-capable Home Gateway will act as our service delivery platform for the future, representing ‘the face of gigabit’ for JT in the Jersey homes.”

“This is further confirmation of the abilities of Tilgin’s system solution for next-generation networks,” asserts Mats Victorin, CEO at Tilgin. “The pro-activeness of JT’s Gigabit Isles project is acknowledged in the industry and often used as a reference, so this is a prestigious partnership for us. A key to this success is our close collaboration with JT. We believe we have what it takes to help them to deliver a world class solution, both the portfolio and the vision, so this is perfect match.”

Genexis also is supplying gateways for the JT deployment (see “Jersey Telecom selects FTTH home gateway from Genexis”).
