Glandorf Telephone Co. has picked the Total Access 5000 broadband platform from ADTRAN, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADTN) to bring high-speed broadband and video services to households in Northwest Ohio. Glandorf is using the flexibility of the Total Access 5000 to deliver both fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) and copper-based broadband services to both residential and business customers.

Glandorf says it is “reaching the unreachable” with premium services by capitalizing on their extensive existing copper network to double the bandwidth speed over bonded copper for rural residents who cannot be serviced by the fiber-optic network. In addition, Glandorf is positioned to offer business class services from the same platform, increasing both revenue opportunities and customer base.

“Our previous solution limited our ability to offer our customers the services they were looking for. We knew we needed to find a solution that would increase speed and serve more subscribers,” said Jason Kleman, IT manager with Glandorf Telephone. “Since implementing ADTRAN’s broadband platform, we are able to provide more reliable and efficient service to our customers, increasing customer satisfaction.”
