OmniTel Communications uses ADTRAN for broadband stimulus FTTH

ADTRAN, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADTN) reveals that it has supplied its Total Access broadband platform OmniTel Communications for the service provider’s fiber to the home (FTTH) network roll out. OmniTel is deploying the network as part of an Iowa Broadband Deployment Governance board project that is using a broadband stimulus grant from the Rural Utilities Service to provide broadband services to more than 7000 subscribers in rural areas of the state.

OmniTel is deploying the broadband access network as part of an Iowa Broadband Deployment Governance board project that is using a broadband stimulus grant from the Rural Utilities Service to provide broadband services to more than 7000 subscribers in rural areas of the state.

OmniTel is deploying ADTRAN’s Total Access 5000 platform in its Active Ethernet configuration.

With ADTRAN our installation was seamless and our network was up and running quickly without any issues,” said Bill Knoop, plant manager at OmniTel Communications. “ADTRAN’s FTTH solution is rock solid – it just works. It gives us the ability to provide superior service to our customers with very little maintenance or administration.”
