FTTx technology vendors Tilgin and and Zhone Technologies say they will integrate Tilgin’s TR-069 management suite, tGem, with Zhone’s indoor GPON ONT product line. The result will be a plug-and-play network management approach for triple-play broadband access services, the companies say.
Tilgin’s tGem, supports remote management of devices compliant with the Broadband Forum’s TR-069 standard. tGem addresses the full life-cycle of customer premise equipment (CPE) in a multi-vendor context, the company asserts.
Zhone's indoor GPON ONT family inclues options with a single Ethernet port to a model with 24 voice ports and 24 Ethernet ports. The indoor GPON ONT portfolio also includes models with T1/E1 interfaces for transport over a packet network.
“All TR-069-enabled GPON devices can now reap the benefits of next-generation remote management solutions,” said Eric Hjelmestam, vice president, solution and marketing at Tilgin. “This allows operators to deliver a rich service portfolio to their subscribers from day one, in a controlled way, and with high levels of customer satisfaction.”
“Through this strategic partnership, Zhone opens up the capability to provide remote management for the entire TR-069 ecosystem,” said Brian Caskey, chief marketing officer at Zhone Technologies. “Working together, we will continue to provide operators with the fastest and most complete remote network management solution available today.”
