UK connectivity specialist Connexions for London (C4L) has partnered with international bandwidth infrastructure provider Zayo Group LLC to deploy a network of fiber-optic links between London Docklands and Slough, providing diverse connectivity for 27 C4L data centers in the area.
C4L says the project builds upon an earlier Zayo deployment that provided dark fiber links between 15 company locations in and around London Docklands.
The new networks provide underlying dark fiber infrastructure for C4L’s coreTX high-performance MPLS network, which is powered by Juniper MX routers. The coreTX network connects over 55 data centers across the UK, including C4L’s recently opened Infinity SDC Slough.
“Extending our network infrastructure and its capabilities is part of our vision to continue breaking down barriers faced by the UK technology community,” said Matt Hawkins, chairman of C4L. “We chose Zayo as a partner because of its existing coverage and in-depth expertise in fiber infrastructure, meaning we could depend on a quick, high-quality fiber roll-out and excellent ongoing operations.”
“Building this new network backbone will strengthen Zayo’s UK fiber footprint and will enable C4L to continue developing innovative service combinations for its customers over many years,” said Alastair Kane, vice president of Zayo Europe.
