Ottawa-based test and measurement equipment maker JGR Optics Inc. says the new TLS5 tunable laser source is generally available. The TLS5 delivers ultra-wide continuous wavelength tuning range of 1260nm to 1630nm at 0.1-nm resolution, covering the complete CWDM spectral range.

With a tuning speed of up to 100 nm per second and very good repeatability, the TLS5 is the perfect tunable laser source for characterization of CWDM and passive optical networks (PON) components, the company asserts.

In addition to front panel control, RS-232 and GPIB interfaces allow easy integration of the TLS5 in automated test systems for manufacturing applications.
