Light Brigade, the education and training division of AFL, says it will partner with USTelecom to provide network engineering and outside plant (OSP) training to the association’s members.
The fiber-optic training courses Light Brigade will provide, such as "Fiber Optics 1-2-3," "FTTx for Installers and Technicians," and "FTTx OSP Design," will supplement USTelecom’s existing events, webinars, and other educational training vehicles. Originally the United States Telephone Association, USTelecom has a service provider and technology developer membership that ranges from large publicly traded communications corporations to small companies and cooperatives. It seeks to unite the US broadband industry through collaborative advocacy and provide a forum to support pro-investment policies.
It also offers a variety of professional development opportunities to its members. “USTelecom offers several ways to expand professional development and knowledge in the areas of broadband communications,” confirms Dario De Paolis, vice president and general manager of Light Brigade. “With our partnership, USTelecom is expanding its offering for outside plant and network engineers who can be assured they are receiving the most up-to-date training available.”
