Light Brigade releases patch panels, closures, and pedestals training DVD

Light Brigade, the education and training division of AFL, has issued a new DVD titled, “Fiber Optic Patch Panels, Closures and Pedestals.” Part of the company’s Staff Development Series of instructional videos, the menu-based DVD examines the various categories of cross-connect products typically used in metropolitan, wide, local, and storage area networks.

The DVD features three chapters relating to fiber-to-the-premises (FTTx) design and installation, and showcases the newest products available across the industry. Filmed in controlled field settings, each chapter thoroughly covers a specific product and the cable management role it fulfills, including patch panels, splice panels, distribution panels, entrance enclosures, LAN panels, and outside plant splice enclosures, Light Brigade says.

“With its detailed graphics, animations, and user-selectable chapters, the ‘Fiber Optic Patch Panels, Closures, and Pedestals’ DVD is an essential training tool for any organization,” asserted Dario De Paolis, vice president and general manager of Light Brigade.

The DVD also includes two bonus chapters on how to prepare loose and tight-buffer optical cables as well a student quiz. A sample of the DVD can be viewed at the company’s website.
