TSIC is a Top 2 supplier of global Internet backbone services as well as a major provider of optical transport services in Europe and North America.

The upgraded European infrastructure will converge SDH, Ethernet, and OTN transport. Ciena says that TSIC will leverage the vendor’s programmable OPn architecture to speed deployment of 1G to 100G optical services to its communications service provider customers. Elements of that architecture such as the OneControl Unified Management System and OneConnect Intelligent Control Plane software, combined with intelligent mesh design, will enable end-to-end control of the network for such rapid deployment of new services, as well as increase reliability by rerouting traffic automatically in the event of outages.

“We´re continuously upgrading our extensive network, enabling mission critical solutions for operators and content providers. Developing an even more scalable and flexible network is not only about meeting the bandwidth demands of today but also ensures the bandwidth demands of tomorrow,” according to Mattias Fridström, vice president, head of technology at TSIC.
