Noel Communications has chosen to deploy the ADVA FSP 3000 and ADVA FSP 150 in its network with the aim of providing connectivity to rural areas of Washington, ADVA Optical Networking says. The fiber-optic network will enable Noel to support the bandwidth requirements of its enterprise customers throughout the state.

ADVA asserts it won the contract to supply its optical transport equipment and Ethernet access and aggregation devices based on their “rapid scalability and ease of use.” The systems vendor also will provide maintenance and training services. Training sessions have already begun at Noel headquarters in Yakima, WA.

Noel operates points of presence in Washington at such locations as Seattle, Everett, Mount Vernon, Bellingham, Olympia, Tacoma, Othello, Yakima, Sunnyside, Kennewick, Pasco, Walla Walla, Spokane, Wenatchee, Ellensburg, and Pullman. Its footprint also extends to the Portland, OR, area and British Columbia to the north as well as Coeur d'Alene and Lewiston, ID, to the east.

The company offers Ethernet services, Internet connections up to 10 Gbps, and wavelength-based services.

"Trust is a key part of our company, a key part of our team. It underscores everything we do. This is something that our customers depend upon," said Nick Guy, director, networking, at Noel Communications. "It's this focus on trust that explains why we're working with ADVA Optical Networking. We need to be able to trust their team and their technology with our customers' mission-critical data. There can be no missed steps here. Thankfully this is something we don't need to worry about. ADVA Optical Networking's team has an innate understanding of networks. They understand what's important to us, what's important to our customers. The value they bring here is incredible."

"One of the most exciting challenges for our team is working side-by-side with our customers. Working almost as one team to achieve shared goals," commented John Scherzinger, senior vice president, North America Sales, ADVA Optical Networking. "This is what defines our relationship with Noel Communications. Over the past several months, our teams have worked together to take rural connectivity in Washington to new levels. The impact upon Noel Communications' customers will be immense. Enterprises in this area will have new opportunities to access bandwidth-intensive applications, seize new business and, ultimately, expand their revenue. What's more, we're just at the start of this journey. What we've achieved here is only the first step."
