Coriant upgrades 6350 Switch Node multiservice transport platform

Optical transport systems provider Coriant has unveiled what it terms “a significant capacity upgrade” for its 6350 Switch Node. The multiservice transport platform now features a 4X greater switch matrix (400 Gbps high order/80 Gbps low order) and increased service interface capacity (2.5G/10G).

Coriant says the switch matrix capacity increase will enable customers to save opex by replacing multiple nodes with one 6350, on a single shelf.

The Coriant 6350 is designed to support the graceful evolution of legacy SDH networks to packet-based infrastructure based on Ethernet and Optical Transport Network (OTN). The 6350 Switch Node uses SDH and Ethernet switching, along with low-order grooming capabilities, to support efficient, low latency transport of end-user business services, mobile backhaul, and IP offload traffic.
