Optical transceiver and related technology vendor Integra Networks has rebranded as IntegraOptics.

"Our new corporate name reflects the brand changes we have undergone in recent years," CEO David J. Prescott said. "'IntegraOptics' more clearly delineates our strategic direction and commercial focus on optical solutions, including hardware, engineering, and support services."

The veteran-owned company headquartered in Albany, NY, sells internally developed optical transceivers – including a range of Cisco-compatible optical modules that include 100 Gigabit Ethernet devices – as well as passives, fiber jumpers, and test and measurement equipment. Its target customers include service providers of all stripes, enterprise and data center network operators, as well as government/education network operators.

"Our value proposition is simple," Prescott said. "We are fanatically attentive to customer satisfaction and easy to do business with. We are proud of our meticulous quality control, engineering excellence, and unsurpassed inventory management. We are recognized for our rapid, reliable on-time delivery, and custom consultative support for special needs. Those are the qualities which define IntegraOptics."

In addition to lessening the chances that someone would mistake the company for a network services provider, the name change further differentiates the company’s identity from that of Integra Telecom, which is a fiber-optic network services provider that has adopted "Integra" as its preferred moniker (see "Integra enhances wavelength services portfolio").
