PEG Bandwidth offers more wavelength services

PEG Bandwidth, a fiber-optic network services provider focused on mobile backhaul and other wireless infrastructure applications, will now offer wavelength services under the PEGWave brand across its network to a wider range of customers.

PEG Bandwidth, a fiber-optic network services provider focused on mobile backhaul and other wireless infrastructure applications, will now offer wavelength services under the PEGWave brand across its network to a wider range of customers.

The service provider will offer PEGWave wavelengths at 2.5-, 10-, and 100-Gbps data rates along with multiplexing/demultiplexing from 10G to 1G and 100G to 10G. Through these customized service offerings, PEG Bandwidth says it can now offer lower-tiered and rural markets the same flexibile bandwidth services commonly enjoyed in Tier 1 markets. PEG Bandwidth says it can connect these wavelengths at rates up to 100G to the largest data centers and carrier hotels in the United States.

The company will market PEGWave to a variety of potential customers, including carriers, large enterprises, data centers, content providers, schools, healthcare, and medical imaging institutes. PEG Bandwidth's footprint includes nearly 15,000 fiber route miles, connecting almost 3,000 cell site locations with local access to 2,600 municipalities and dozens of utilities (see "PEG Bandwidth picks Alcatel-Lucent for mobile backhaul expansion").
