Zayo touts new dark fiber route connecting NYSE

Zayo Group, LLC says it is marketing a new dark fiber route between the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) Data Center facility at 1700 MacArthur Blvd in Mahwah, NJ, and 755 Secaucus Road, outside of New York City. The 38.8-km will be connected to Zayo’s New Jersey/New York dark fiber network, which the company says spans more than 500 route miles. Zayo expects to complete the fiber-optic cable installation early in the first quarter of 2015.

Zayo Group, LLC says it is marketing a new dark fiber route between the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) Data Center facility at 1700 MacArthur Blvd in Mahwah, NJ, and 755 Secaucus Road, outside of New York City. The 38.8-km link will be connected to Zayo's New Jersey/New York dark fiber network, which the company says spans more than 500 route miles. Zayo expects to complete the fiber-optic cable installation early in the first quarter of 2015.

The link’s 38.8-km length makes it the shortest, and therefore lowest latency, fiber-optic network route currently available between the two facilities, Zayo asserts. In addition to the connection between Mahwah and the 755 Secaucus Road facility, the route also offers follow-on connectivity to such facilities as 1400 Federal Blvd. in Carteret, 300 Boulevard East in Weehawken, 60 Hudson Street in New York, and 111 8th Ave. in New York. Zayo asserts it also will offer a fully diverse ring service between Mahwah and 755 Secaucus Road.

"The Mahwah route is engineered to meet the demands of the area's major financial firms that depend on reliable, secure, high-bandwidth connectivity to support critical trading traffic and business operations," said Zach Nebergall, vice president of metro dark fiber at Zayo. "We are always looking for opportunities to invest in the New York and Northern New Jersey area in support of our customers."
