CenturyLink, Inc. (NYSE: CTL) has announced its intention to offer its array of managed hybrid IT services to regional and multinational corporations in Australia. The U.S. Tier 1 carrier adds it has reached an agreement with independent data-center-as-a-service provider NEXTDC Ltd. to support the roll out.

The company has offered network services to more than 50 business customers in Australia since 2002. CenturyLink can now add managed hosting and colocation services thanks to its agreement with NEXTDC. The agreement provides access to NEXTDC's five data centers, located in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra and Perth. NEXTDC will be able to sell into CenturyLink's data centers as well.

CenturyLink plans to add public cloud services within the country later this year.

"We are eager to offer our managed hybrid IT services and consistent IT experience to multinational corporations in Australia, one of the most connected countries in the world," said Gery Messer, managing director, Asia Pacific, at CenturyLink. "The extension of CenturyLink's data center footprint into Australia signifies our commitment to serve growing customer demand for IT services in the Asia-Pacific region."
