Tektronix targets 400G with 45-GHz optical modulation analyzer

May 13, 2015
Tektronix, Inc. is taking orders for the 45-GHz OM4245 45 GHz Optical Modulation Analyzer (OMA) for use with the DPO70000SX 70 GHz ATI Performance Oscilloscope the company launched at OFC 2015 (see "Tektronix offers 70-GHz high-fidelity real-time oscilloscope"). The OMA module aims to meet test and measurement requirements for both 100G and emerging 400G coherent transmission designs, including multi-carrier approaches.

The OMA module aims to meet test and measurement requirements for both 100G and emerging 400G coherent transmission designs, including multi-carrier approaches.

The OM4245 OMA supports dual-polarization coherent optical analysis up to 80 GBaud via built-in, narrow linewidth lasers. It supports the Tektronix OM-Series User Interface (OUI), which offers ease of use as well as access to the MATLAB computational engine needed for advanced coherent optical analysis. The result is a robust, time-saving, and customizable platform, Tektronix asserts.

For analysis beyond 400G, the OM4245 offers Multi-Carrier Support (option MCS) for automated analysis what Tektronix describes as “any configuration of multi-carrier systems including 800G and 1T architectures.”

Tektronix is accepting orders for the OM4245 OMA with prices starting at $240,000 US MSRP.
