VeEX upgrades TX300s optical test platform with dual port blade

May 6, 2015
VeEX Inc. has unveiled the Dual Port TX320s Multi-Service Hardware option that addresses a variety of applications at data rates ranging from 1.5 Mbps to 11 Gbps. The upgrade enables the TX300s platform to address dual-port Optical Transport Network (OTN), SONET/SDH, PDH/DSn, Carrier Ethernet, Fibre Channel, and CPRI/OBSAI test and measurement requirements via a single dual-port blade.

VeEX Inc. has unveiled the Dual Port TX320s Multi-Service Hardware option that addresses a variety of applications at data rates ranging from 1.5 Mbps to 11 Gbps. The upgrade enables the TX300s platform to address dual-port Optical Transport Network (OTN), SONET/SDH, PDH/DSn, Carrier Ethernet, Fibre Channel, and CPRI/OBSAI test and measurement requirements via a single dual-port blade.

The factory-installed dual-port blade leverages SFP+ interfaces to open the second slot in the TX300s Platform for other test functionality. This can include modules, such as a built-in OTDR, or such other fiber optic network test tools as a fiber inspection scope, optical power meter, light source, or visual fault locator. The capabilities set enables technicians to validate fiber cable infrastructures from the physical fiber integrity to transport and applications.

Technicians can operate the unit's dual test ports independently or simultaneously, including in-service, bi-directional monitoring at all test rates. CPRI test capabilities incorporate REC/BBU and RE/RRH emulation modes for rates ranging from 614.4 Mbps to 9.8 Gbps, as well as CPRI in-service dual port monitoring for uplink and downlink. This capability complement the unit's Ethernet SyncE and PTP features for fiber to the antenna (FTTA), DAS, and related small cell LTE deployments. An optional atomic clock, built-in GPS receiver, one-way-delay (asymmetry), and wander and phase measurements aid discovery of synchronization problems.

The TX320s works with VeExpress cloud services, which enable users to manage and share purchased or rented test features (licenses) and keep the test set's software up-to-date. The optional R300-Server provides a centralized repository where test results can be manually or automatically uploaded.
