French Ethernet systems house CXR has announced the SWCE line of 10 Gigabit Ethernet Carrier Ethernet switches. The switches comply with the Metro Ethernet Forum CE 2.0 standard and offer Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching with IPv4 and IPv6 dual stack capabilities.

The SWCE systems offer two 10GbE SFP+ interfaces, four multi-rate SFP interfaces (2.5GbE /GbE/100FX), and eight Gigabit Ethernet interfaces. The switches enable CE 2.0 managed services such as EVC, E-LINE, E-LAN, and E-TREE at the UNI/NNI Carrier Ethernet network access point.

The SWCE line aims to provide a "pay as you grow" approach. Operators can move from lower speeds to 10GbE as their needs demand via a license option. It also leverages a service-aware architecture and can accommodate a variety of network management strategies via support of "all" network management protocols, an industry-standard CLI, and a Web interface with on-line help pages.

The SWCE switches are now available.
