Windstream picks Zayo for data center connectivity in New York

zColo, the data center and colocation business of Zayo Group (NYSE: ZAYO), says it will provide colocation services in the New York metro market to Windstream. The data center connectivity contract is part of Windstream's 100G long-haul express fiber-optic network expansion, which includes an upgrade of its Northeast regional and metro DWDM network.

zColo will provide colocation infrastructure for Windstream at 60 Hudson Street in New York City and 165 Halsey Street in Newark, NJ. Combined, the two carrier-neutral colocation facilities provide connectivity to more than 300 customers and carriers.

"The colocation relationship with Zayo in New York further enhances Windstream Carrier Solutions' already robust ability to serve customers with high-bandwidth needs," said Buddy Bayer, vice president of transport engineering for Windstream. "Expanding our long-haul express network provides reliable, high-capacity connectivity from the New York metropolitan area to markets across the U.S."
