Lightron Inc. NG-PON2 SFP+ ONU

Feb. 21, 2018
The Lightron NG-PON2 ONU is the smallest form-factor ONU in the fiber optic industry, says the company. The ONU uses Lightron's patented micro-TEC controlled DML in the transmitter and thermally controlled filter in the receiver to achieve four-channel tunable operation in each transmitter and receiver side for the symmetrical four-channel tunable 10 Gbps downstream and 10 Gbps upstream.

Judge's Comment: "Compact form factors like SFP+ can be critical enablers for PON and access network equipment. So having SFP+ sized NGPON2 ONUs is great."
