The DIGI-G4 OTN processor is a 100-Gbps solution that can enable 400 Gbps in metro and cloud networks, while reducing the power consumption of 100-Gbps OTN ports by 50%. In addition to providing the ability to meet bandwidth demands, it offers the flexibility to deploy software-defined networks by enabling hybrid OTN/packet switching and flexible transmission. The DIGI-G4 processor also has integrated OTN encryption for optical transmissions, which ensures secure cloud connectivity, PMC says.

The DIGI-G4 processor is a dense 10-Gbps, 40-Gbps, and 100-Gbps multi-service transport solution. It can enable single-chip line cards for OTN switching on packet-optical transport platforms, WDM/ROADM systems, and compact data center interconnect platforms. The packet switching software development kit can be used for multiple applications across different platforms, PMC adds.
